This is not Yukihiro Hayashi's first delay. Time passes and he even manages to improve them year after year. Delay fans will surely remember the Providence Delay 80 which became a reference in Japan almost 15 years ago. Yukihiro Hayashi then designed a delay in the vein of the best rack delays of the 80's, capable of competing with references of the genre, such as the Pete Cornish delay and others... After having developed the Flight Time , superb machine dedicated to the TC2290 (with much more power than this one); he returns with the Future Factory, a totally unique digital delay. Benefiting from modulation and a stereo image that is totally out of the ordinary. Are you ready? Let's go!

As always, from the outside, the pedal looks extremely neat. Case adjusted to the thousandth of a millimetre, ultra-light and high-quality anodized aluminium, perfect finish... it's Free The Tone. The work inside is just as "perfect", high quality PCB, selected components, far from the standards of many other more or less high-end brands. Eight years have passed since the creation of the brand, and at our level, we can tell you that Free The Tone remains one of the absolute references on the market, in terms of design, manufacturing quality and musicality. The Japanese know how to do it and they prove it once again with this superb delay.
The interface uses the very broad lines of Flight Time. It can be scary the first time you look at it, but it's actually very very simple and intuitive to use. Much more than cascading drop-down menus.
On the Future Factory program? a new kind of digital dual delay. Indeed, the DD-1Y is a Stereo delay (which can of course be used in Mono) with two completely separate delay lines, named A and B. On each of the two lines, you can assign all the functions of the pedal. Different tempos, different delays, different modulations, different EQs etc... It's really the equivalent of 2 delays in one, with the possibility of being routed in series or in parallel, or with a bypass for one or the other. Added to this, the midi functions, filters, killdry and everything you need to play this first-rate delay to the maximum.

Guitar in hand, on two clean Two-Rock bases in stereo configuration (see our video below)... How can I tell you? It's a real wall that stands in front of you. The first thing that strikes you is the enormous spatialization generated by this delay. There's a kind of unique 3D depth with a wonderful modulation that adds even more to this feeling of extra depth and density. Each delay-ified note benefits from this signature which really makes it possible to create a soundscape in its own right. As always with the brand, the modulations, EQs and various filters are of extraordinary musicality. These functions have clearly become one of the specialties of the brand with the know-how acquired by producing the excellent Tri-Avatar and the Prog EQ. The modulation part, let's talk about it, because it is what makes all the difference overall. Indeed, by playing on the phase of the signal which changes randomly from a certain level, the FF-1Y makes it possible to create a very specific effect which generates this unique depth with a very wide image. Imagine, your delay lines sweeping from right to left with different depths, densities, modulation, speed... It's quite simply the dream of all fans of big delays like Lukather, Landau, LA Sound and others. .. And of all those who are looking for a solid base to generate ambient and other very large layers of effects, which the FF-1Y will enhance.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an extremely pure multi-line delay, with a very wide diffusion, in short, a delay that is impressive, the Future Factory FF-1Y is made for you! Let's be clear, all fans of big rack delays will jump on this new little Japanese marvel that will seriously shake up competing brands!

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
